Brief Description:
Artificial intelligence is quickly changing education, affecting how teachers instruct, how students learn, and how learning objectives
are evaluated. This special session examines the ethical and practical uses of AI in K–12 and higher education settings. In addition to
addressing important issues in data privacy, bias, accessibility, and academic integrity, participants will examine AI-driven solutions
that support formative assessment, instructional design, and personalized learning. The session highlights appropriate integration techniques
that complement, rather than replace, human creativity, emphasizing the importance of AI literacy for educators and students alike. This session
provides educators, administrators, and stakeholders with the knowledge they need to negotiate the changing role of AI in education effectively
and fairly, drawing on research-informed perspectives and practical examples.

Assoc. Prof. Abdurrahman Almekhlafi
Hamdan Bin Mohamed Smart University, UAE
Bio: Dr. Abdurrahman Ghaleb Almekhlafi is an Associate
Professor of Educational Technology at the University of Sharjah,
with over 25 years of global experience in teaching, research, and
curriculum innovation. As an instructional designer specializing in
technology and AI integration in education, he developed the Digital
Interactive Content (ADIC) Model to enhance teaching and learning.
Dr. Almekhlafi has authored numerous books, book chapters, and
research articles on educational technology, curriculum development,
and instructional design. As a certified professional trainer, he
has delivered extensive workshops for K–12 schools and higher
education institutions, focusing on technology integration, online
learning strategies, AI in Education, and pedagogical innovation.
In addition to his academic contributions, he has held several
leadership roles, including Editor-in-Chief of two international
journals, Program Coordinator for educational programs, and
Consultant to major organizations and institutions. His work bridges
educational theory with practical application, particularly in smart
learning environments, digital content development, and AI in
education.
